Please Help Me Select The Cover For My Book

Just a quick one. I don’t want to distract you too much from last minute buying of Yuletide chain degreaser and chammy cream for your loved ones.

I’ve long known that the cover for my ebook, ‘Sportiveur: A Beginner’s Guide To Training For, Completing and Enjoying Your First Sportive’ is somewhat, er, amateurish.

(If you’re reading this on anything other than a mobile, look to the right column and you can judge for yourself)  ====>

Last week, in a fit of red wine-fuelled madness, I decided to do something about it.

I’m in the process of getting a new, professional cover design on a website called 99 Designs (where a bunch of designers effectively compete to get their book cover design selected).

I’ve whittled it down to a selection of designs which I think might work, but now I need your help.

Vote For Your Favourite Cover

I’m running a poll on the 99 Designs website. I’d really appreciate it if you could click over there, give the selection of 6 covers a look and vote for your favourite.

If you consider yourself a beginner or a relatively inexperienced road cyclist then I’m particularly interested in what you think (yes, you! *points finger out of screen*).

Or if you’re someone that buys books on Amazon.

Or both. Or neither.

Please vote.

*Looks directly at you with puppy dog eyes*

Here’s the link:

I’ll let you know the results (assuming you’re interested…)

1. Please click on each design to see the whole image (the voting page images are cropped);

2. The cover that shows a cyclist with the backpack – try to ignore this. I have an updated one without the backpack, but can’t change the poll. Who rides with a backpack…? 😉

Does This Mean I’m Re-launching The Book?

Er, maybe. I’m going to give it a good read in the New Year and consider what changes would be worth making. It’s pretty ‘evergreen’ information, but we’ll see.

Don’t worry though*, if you’ve bought the book from this website (via Gumroad), and I do update it, I will send you the revised version when it is launched. I’m pretty sure that when I upload an updated version to Amazon, it will automatically send it to your Kindle.

(* I doubt you are worried…)

And Finally….

I’ll take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

See you on the other side.

How exciting, I think I’m drawn to #31 because it seems to mimic your writing style and personality more than some of the others.
Also like #55 as it looks attainable, the photo seems to show an everyday rider rather than a professional, which is what the book is all about.
And visually really like #64 as it looks focused.
